12/5 Inspiration…

Even though some days the temperatures do drop and the wind does blow, the sun never seems to fail in Santa Barbara, California. Given that and the added palm trees, sometimes it’s hard to remember that it is December and snow is pouring down around my hometown. I guess that is why most of my inspiration boards are filled with flowers and sunshine, but I suppose that’s not an entirely bad way to feel most of the time. Thank youuuuuu Santa Barbara ❤

Mood Board/Inspo…

This weeks mood board/inspo’ vibes are all about casual denim and simple, natural beauty. I like simplicity a lot when it comes to style, life, and pictures. There’s something s intriguing about an insanely beautiful picture that is just so… well, simple.

Sultry Sunday…

Summer is coming to an end here in the US, so I thought I would reminisce on some of my favourite most inspiring summer paradise pictures I’ve came across…. xo

Ocean Breeze…

Dress: Mono B (register & check out their pieces!)

I found this gorgeous dress in a little boutique in downtown Bristol, RI. It’s so incredibly stunning in the simplest way! It’s very thin and breezy, and makes me feel oh-so-glam (; It has a very tiny slight lift in the front and drape in the back so it’s never a bother when walking around. It’s up there with my top 3 favourite pieces this summer! And I found it on sale! (my mom bought it for me, thanks mom :P) I’m not the biggest fan of maxi dresses but this one is killer! I paired it with this gorgeous gold statement necklace that I got last winter in another Boutique in Bristol called Jackies Loft. Gold is a great color with this dress! When I tried it on in the store I was wearing a gold body chain underneath and it looked stunning!

Lovely Words: Slaves of the Ordinary

Today’s quote hits all the right spots in all the right places for how I’ve been feeling lately… I’ll be carrying this one around with me for awhile. I hope you will too…

“Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.”

Sunset from our room – Newport, RI

I went to visit home last week due to an unfortunate loss in the family, but luckily that week my mom had a timeshare in Newport, RI. I’ve been there many times, it only being about 35-45 minutes away from my house, but not enough to enjoy it. It was just so relaxing and inspiring to wake up there every day. Bristol, my home town, isn’t a much different environment, but there was much about Newport that I hadn’t explored. It hit me, very quickly and as hard as a brick, that a place so beautiful that has been 35 minutes down the road in my home state was one that I was unfamiliar with. As I walked around every day exploring shops and enjoying smoothies from the lines of shacks, I noticed all of the people around me. Many, many tourists and many young high schoolers around hanging about with their friends. This suddenly made me regret not exploring more when I was younger. Now I live in a completely different state and environment 8 hours away, which is most likely the reason I realized I took the beauty of my home for granted.
Block Island is another part of Rhode Island that is about a $20 ferry ride away and is amazing. I had only been there one other time besides this past week.
I’ve personally always been the type to let the environment around me inspire me and touch my soul, so I was truly disappointed in the lack of adventure and appreciation I had during my growing up years. I had been truly blessed to live in a place so beautiful, surrounded by the open sea and salt for so many years. I hope that this beauty can inspire you a bit too.

Bristol Harbor, RI

Bristol harbor 2012 3

This photo was taken while I was on a Navy Boat ride in my hometown at the Bristol Harbor in Rhode Island of summer 2012.
There’s nothing I love more than the water! Especially after living in the Ocean State for 18 years 🙂
