What I wore:

This week’s inspiration/mood board is all about simple, casual, autumnal business chic. Every day when I get ready for work, or even when I’m shopping for work clothes, I can never wear something boring. Boring isn’t even an option in my closet. Although some of the pieces/outfits may be more plain, that doesn’t mean at (not even for a second) that they’re not totally chic. Every day is a fashion show, or else I wouldn’t get up and go to work at all (;

Shoes: Forever 21 (similar here)
This is by far my favorite top – ever. While visiting my grandma this summer I decided to do some snooping through her closet and took it into my own hands to inherit a few things (; In my suitcase back to DC I had managed to bring this top and a plain white one just like it, as well as a curtain (I know, sounds weird, right? Lets save that for a different post). My grandmother is a bigger woman, which explains the size, but I adore oversized clothes – adore being the understatement of the year. There’s nothing like a classic red lip and a polka dot top – so vintage chic! I’ve never really owned anything vintage in my life so I cherished this top over summer, wearing it far too often. Surprisingly, it matched everything, or I was just wearing it with everything – either way, in the words of my best friend, it was tres chic. Unfortunately for me (but luckily just at the turn of fall (; ) my grandma called in a rage saying it was her favorite top and she needed it shipped back to her before her doctors appointment so she could look cute for her hunk of a doctor. So, bye-bye to my polka-dotted love. Until next summer!
After reading many of the Fall magazine issues and scouting the runways for my latest Fall Trends Post, I went on the hunt for some amazing Autumn pieces to share with all of you that you too could add to your wardrobes, and at amazing prices!
Below are some of my favorite finds, and at the bottom of each picture is the name of the store you can find it at. Happy Shopping!
Summer came and went in quite literally, what feels like, the blink of an eye. It seems as though I just did a Summer Trends post. Well, with that being said, we must start gearing up and getting ready for a lovely Autumn season ahead of us. Autumn is by far my favorite season – the lack of outwear to cover up all the glam underneath! It’s the perfect street style weather, and there’s no excuse for not taking advantage of it! Therefore, I pulled some of the more realistic looks from the runways so you can know what to look for on your next shopping trip to get ready for Fall 2016.
Dramatic Furs & Shearling Jackets
This isn’t a trend, really… This is a cold weather thing. Fur will forever be trending!
Long, Bell Sleeved Blouses
Oversized is by far my favorite style. It’s beautiful and so stylish! This hits all the nails on the head.
Velvet is here to stay for 2016. This isn’t just trending in the clothing department, the runway is telling us that Velvet everything is this seasons must.
This has to be my least favorite look of the season. I do love a tea length puffer jacket, but that’s about the extent of it. I find them to have a classy appeal but the rest can be perceived as somewhat tacky.
Suits / Menswear Inspired
Great Gatsby-esque, except the woman are in charge this time around. There’s nothing more demanding and powerful than a woman in suit, and lets not forget, epically stylish!
This trend is one you have to be careful with – like the puffer jacket, there are limits. There are chic sweatshirts and there are ones you just shouldn’t leave the house in. This trend doesn’t mean you can just throw on any sweatshirt and be stylish! Forever 21 has some great pullovers with funny logos and trendy styles to them.
Capes & Capelets
This piece is the epitome of Fall. These are easily stylish and so classy!
Take this summers off the shoulder trend and alter it a bit and you get the singular cold shoulder for this Fall. This is a unique one!
Sweater: Banana Republic (similar here)
Dress: Hollister (similar here)
Heels: Aldo (similar here)
I love the whole concept of wearing a sweater over a dress! It gives you a cozy, effortlessly chic look and is so unique! This sweater is a bit short on me, so it was perfect to wear over this dress, which has a waist that flares around the tummy area. This could go the same for a skirt and sweater combo. It’s great for sunny, yet chilly Autumn days for a meeting over some coffee or a lunch date. Try this trick at home!
October is my favorite month of the entire year! Unfortunately, I’ve been sick this past week and unable to enjoy all that it brings (and my blog 😦 sorry guys!) Not only is the weather not too hot or too cold, and the leaves are all changing different colors and crumpling under our feet, but it’s Halloween! Thanks to Missguided and Asos it’s so easy to get fab and spooky for the month of October. Here are some of my favorite pieces for babe-ing in the festivities (I hope that makes sense… I definitely just made that up :P)
