Plaid Shirt: Charlotte Rousse (last season)

It’s an extremely gloomy, rainy day here in DC. As soon as I was ready to take some pictures, it started to pour 😦 Lucky enough, it cleared for the rest of the night! My lovely boyfriend was my photographer and actually did so much better than I expected! Although he made fun of me most of the time, I think I’ll keep him (; This is such a casual chic outfit that can be worn for a night out, or with a pair of sneakers for a day having lunch with some friends. I haven’t had many opportunities to expand my closet recently (aka go shopping :P) so I’ve done a lot of playing around with the pieces I have. I think that’s one of the key necessities to being a stylish individual. Spending isn’t always available and we don’t all get clothes for free like the many blogger inspirations we see with new pieces nearly every other day. Making the most of the pieces you have is key. One pair of jeans can make 5 different significant outfits that never look the same! Keep an open mind 🙂

After a visit to LF Stores in NYC last spring I fell in love with these boho chic boyfriend jeans and needed them in my closet. I’ve never had a pair of “mom” jeans until these and to be honest I was a bit fearful of the way they may fit (and returns to another country is just stress that none of us really need) but I adore Missguided and fit in their other jeans well, so I gave it a shot. Although they’re somewhat loose in the upper area and below the tooshie, that’s how they’re supposed to fit. It took some getting used to but I love them and feel so 90s chic! The top is actually a tunic in which I had to fold up a bit and knot in the front. I’m all about knotted tops right now! It’s so easy to do and can add some flare and cropped style to practically any normal top. Hope you like it.
