This is by far my favorite top – ever. While visiting my grandma this summer I decided to do some snooping through her closet and took it into my own hands to inherit a few things (; In my suitcase back to DC I had managed to bring this top and a plain white one just like it, as well as a curtain (I know, sounds weird, right? Lets save that for a different post). My grandmother is a bigger woman, which explains the size, but I adore oversized clothes – adore being the understatement of the year. There’s nothing like a classic red lip and a polka dot top – so vintage chic! I’ve never really owned anything vintage in my life so I cherished this top over summer, wearing it far too often. Surprisingly, it matched everything, or I was just wearing it with everything – either way, in the words of my best friend, it was tres chic.  Unfortunately for me (but luckily just at the turn of fall (; ) my grandma called in a rage saying it was her favorite top and she needed it shipped back to her before her doctors appointment so she could look cute for her hunk of a doctor. So, bye-bye to my polka-dotted love. Until next summer!

Choker: EttikaXFreePeople

I’m obsessed with casual jersey dresses! They’re quick to throw on and easy to dress up or down. I have turned this one in particular into multiple different looks – classic work attire with a chunky necklace and some heels, edgy/punk as appeared here, sporty with some sneakers and a hat. The options are endless with just this one piece! I love the H&M ones as well! They have turtlenecks, different designs, fits and fabrics in their basics section. I went with the bulky booties to go with this Ettika Choker, because it’s very bold and I really wanted that to be my main emphasis.

This star-studded choker was created by Ettika for Free People, and comes in multiple colors and materials. I love this black one in particular because of the velvet straps, as velvet is so in right now! It’s unique, and the multiple layers leave room for different styles of wear. You can wear it looser or tighter to change the look of it – sometimes I even cross the order of the layers to give it a more messy vibe!

Elegant Gardens…

Top: Boohoo

Skirt: Forever 21

Choker: Revolve by Ettika

Shoes: Aldo

I ventured through the beautiful gardens of Dumbarton Oaks in Washingston, D.C. yesterday and felt like a princess – like Drew Barrymore in Ever After, to be exact (if you haven’t seen it, you must!) The beauty was astonishing, even with the flowers out of bloom. Of course, I had to wear a lovely outfit to match! This Forever 21 pleated silk skirt glowed in the sun. Instinctively, I wear this Ettika Choker with whatever outfit I possibly can, possibly being many, because it surprisingly brightens up more outfits than you would think! It’s not a simple piece, yet matches most things in a very simple yet eye-catching way. See more about this choker and Revolve on my latest Ettika post. It’s safe to say, the scenery is the real beauty here. Find the little treasures around you and explore them as much as possible!

Kimchi Blue…

Dress: Urban Outfitters

Shoes: Zara

Sunnies: RayBan

It was an ongoing joke on the 4th of July to count and see how many people complimented this dress, and there were so many we couldn’t even keep track! It’s just so casually, effortlessly beautiful and elegant. I know I use the term effortless quite a lot, but if I could erase every other time I’ve used it and change the definition of it to this dress, I would. Though the front is very lowcut, thanks to my lack of packages it didn’t seem revealing. It’s very light, breezy and cool in the heat, but does shrink in the wash! I almost lost it when I struggled to button it around my ribs, but as the day went on it loosend back to its original fit. It’s a true beauty!

Monday City Style…

Top: Zara (in-store only, similar here)

Jeans: Zara (in-store only, similar here)

Shoes: Zara

I’m a bit Zara obsessed at the moment, as you can tell. They had a huge sale on before the holiday so I took full advantage of the amazing deals and got myself a little going-away outfit! Everything in Zara is incredibly chic, even in the simplest of forms. I was in fits over this bell-sleeved, pinstriped top. It’s light and airy, and simple yet so unique! The jeans were supposed to be boyfriend jeans, but they only had one size left and I loved them so much that I got them anyway! Also, the shoes leave horrible blisters the first few times if worn for long periods of time 😬 but after being broken in they’re super comfy and match everything while being effortless chic!

Ettika X Revolve

I recently received this beautiful choker from Ettika, and was extremely delighted to hear the news that it is now a product for Revolve! (yaaaaaay, Ettika!!) The company fell as much in love with the piece as I did, and therefore it’s now available at Revolve.com.

There’s nothing I can say I dislike about this piece. I was skeptical if I would like the tassel part and really be able to wear it with anything at first, for I felt it was very western looking, but with this gorgeous mustard H&M blouse (similar here) and a pair of jean shorts, it looked anything but western! It was festival, boho chic and looked so casual on my dinner date. I‘ve realized that regardless of my skepticism, this is a great piece for many different outfits! For instance, a denim on denim ensemble or a black dress with some gladiators, it’s can be rocked on more occasions than I imagined! A good piece of jewelry really changes the entire look of an outfit; I’ve learned this through my experience with Ettika altogether thus far.

Now, this is me being extremely picky, but after all this is a review and I’m being as honest as possible. The only slight disadvantage with some of Ettika‘s chokers is how hard they are to put on. The chain to hook into has very tiny loops and then bigger loops throughout, so you can clip into the bigger loops. But, it just so happens that no bigger loop fits the size of my neck. So I’ve had to find a way to fit the clip through a small hole, after much exhaustion. But, if I do clip it on the closest loop to fitting, it does rest lower on my neck but still has the choker look, as well as looks good.

Regardless, Ettika continues to amaze me.

Ettika x Saks…

Hey everyone! I recently just partnered up with Ettika, a bohemian style, handmade jewelry company. As a member of their Review Team, I get to try some of their amazing pieces and share them with you! Currently the biggest trend in the accessory department is chokers, and just in time for summer and with all of the Coachella rage, Ettika have created the most beautiful, colorful beaded chokers that can be stacked and worn individually!

I got mine in this gorgeous turquoise color, but it also comes in green, orange, yellow, light pink, white and so much more. They have hundreds of different beaded and other exquisite chokers on their website.

These are perfect for every occasion, whether you’re dressing up for a night out or just going for lunch with some friends, I love mine so much I wear it almost every day! Not only that, but the chain is long enough so that if you aren’t feeling the choker style for the day, you can loosen it and wear it as a regular beaded necklace. This is a great shade of turquoise as well, and the beads are so beautiful and genuine that none of them look the same, they carry an authentic stone vibe rather than all being a solid color. This is the perfect summer piece!

Forever 21 in all honesty is the goldmine of affordable trends. This 70s inspired outfit is just a few things among the hundreds of pieces Forever 21 has that is modernized from the decade. Not only that, but different parts of their stores carry different trends. I’m crazy in love with this trend, as I think the pieces put separately with other modern pieces from your closet are effortlessly timeless.

That 70s Outfit….

Top: Forever 21

Jeans: Forever 21

Sunnies: Rayban

Winter is gone here and it barely ever came! One blizzard of snow and now we’re basking in the sunshine of 80 degree weather, crop tops, and bright sunglasses all over again. The 70s trend is still holding strong, and I’ve stumbled across the most chic high waisted flare legged pants and cute little striped tee to match. Not to mention these thick, clompy shoes to pull the look together. I feel like a modern day Mila Kunis in That 70s Show and it’s a field day of fun.
