Most importantly love

Like it’s the only thing you know how. At the end of the day all this means nothing. this page, where you’re sitting, your degree, your job, the money – nothing even matters except love and human connection – who you loved and how deeply you loved them, how you touched the people around you and how much you gave them.

hardcore summer vibes radiating from my soul. thank goodness for California and its 70-80 degree weather in February!

you are not them

i am trying to not
make you pay for their mistakes
i am trying to teach myself
you are not responsible
for the wound
how can i punish you
for what you have not done
you wear my emotions
like a decorated army vest
you are not cold or
savage or hungry
you are medicinal
you are not them

i could light a whole city

i do not want to have you
to fill the empty parts of me
i want to be full on my own
i want to be so complete
i could light a whole city
and then
i want to have you
cause the two of us combined
could set it on fire

12/5 Inspiration…

Even though some days the temperatures do drop and the wind does blow, the sun never seems to fail in Santa Barbara, California. Given that and the added palm trees, sometimes it’s hard to remember that it is December and snow is pouring down around my hometown. I guess that is why most of my inspiration boards are filled with flowers and sunshine, but I suppose that’s not an entirely bad way to feel most of the time. Thank youuuuuu Santa Barbara ❤

10/12 Inspiration

Some thoughts today:

A friend said to me the other day, “Have you ever heard that saying? ‘If a writer falls in love with you, you can never die.’ Cause, you know, they will always be in their writing, out there in the world forever.”

Nothing ever resonated so deeply, and what a blessing and a curse that is.
